Potsdam (ots) – Innovative Thinking, creative work in a Team and fast-user-oriented solutions are just some of The aspects and Strengths of the innovation method of Design Thinking. However, as Design Thinking actually works in practice, what do you do with those who do not want to engage in the method and what it has to do with our two brain hemispheres? These and other questions, Dr. Claudia Nicolai, and Dr. Holger Rhinow, of the School of Design Thinking at the Hasso-Plattner-Institute (HPI) to answer in the new Podcast episode new ground (https://podcast.hpi.de). Together with Moderator Leon Stebe you erörteren, how different is the communication with Design Thinking works, what does that have to do with the lack of hierarchical structures and what are the three principles of Design Thinkign is subject to.

„Design Thinking is trying to challenge stereotypes,“ explains Dr. Claudia Nicolai, Co-Director of the HPI School of Design Thinking (D-School). „So you learn on completely different levels.“ Dr. Holger Rhinow, program Manager at HPI Academy, impressed especially focusing on the Thinking, Talking and Making in Design Thinking Workshops: „There are no phones and no Computer. Plattner, following the example of Stanford d. school in Potsdam founded and has since become the European hub for Design Thinking education. Since 2007, the HPI School of Design Thinking, annually offers 240 places for a supplementary study in the innovation method. Revolutionary thing is that both the four to six students per learning group as well as their professors and lecturers come from completely different disciplines. As a multi-disciplinary Team, with partners from the economy, develop approaches to a solution, the back of the human needs in the foreground and user-centered. This year, the students of the HPI School of Design Thinking, from 15 Nations, from 65 universities and 70 disciplines. More than half of the DAX 30 companies have visited the D-School already. Since 2007, Design Thinking is taught under the guidance of Professor Ulrich Weinberg successfully at the Hasso-Plattner-Institute, lived and continuously developed. Short Profile Of Hasso-Plattner-Institute

The Hasso-Plattner-Institute (HPI) in Potsdam is Germany’s University excellence center for Digital Engineering (https://hpi.de). With the bachelor’s program in „IT Systems Engineering“ provides the common Digital Engineering-faculty of HPI and Potsdam University, Germany the unique and particularly practical engineering science computer science studies, which is currently used by approximately 500 students. In the three master programs in „IT Systems Engineering“, „Digital Health“ and „Data Engineering“ can be set on this basis their own research priorities. In the CHE University rankings, the HPI always ranks at the top. The HPI School of Design Thinking, Europe’s first innovation school for students modeled after the Stanford d. school, annually offers 240 places for a supplementary study. Currently, 14 professors and over 50 guest professors, lecturers and instructors on the HPI. It conducts excellent academic research in the IT disciplines, but also in the HPI Research School for PhD candidates, with its Research branches in Cape town, Haifa and Nanjing.
