
Shoemakers and orthopaedic Shoe maker: agreement on a 1,500 Euro minimum wage
Social partners have a solution competence in the industry level
Vienna (OTS/ÖGB) – in Spite of the difficult initial situation, the employer agreed and the employee representatives in the shoemakers and orthopaedic Shoe – making industry on the implementation of 1,500 Euro minimum wage in the collective agreement until 2020, according to the social partners agreement of 2017. This means a minimum wage increase in several stages by up to 21 percent. Of the negotiation to succeed, all employees of the approximately 800 to 1,000 shoemakers and orthopaedic Shoe – maker-trade businesses in Austria benefit. The current KV-minimum wage for the Shoe makers is 1.370,01 Euro and for orthopaedic Shoe-maker 1.385,60.++++
In 2017, the KV reserves-minimum wages in the Shoe industry is still under 1,200 euros. High competitive pressure caused by footwear imports and tariff adjustments in the area of orthopedic shoes impacted the industry. Nevertheless, both sides are well-known in the KV-negotiations for the importance of the social partnership, to the location and security of supply. The completion of 2019 in Detail:
* Footwear industry: to increase the KV-minimum wages by 4.28 percent on average; the lowest paid groups of up to 5 percent.
* Orthopaedic Shoe industry: increase of the KV-minimum wages to 3.55 per cent on average; the lowest paid groups of up to 6.77 per cent.
* Above-average increase in the remuneration for Apprentices – an average of 7.75 percent; That apprentices get in 1. The teaching year is 500 euros, in the 4. Teaching Year And 970 Euros.
* Commencement of negotiations for the updating of the framework of a collective contract agreed.
