The Royal Canadian Mint shows the famous ship of the discoverer, John Cabot, to celebrate the 70 years since the accession of Newfoundland and Labrador to the Confederation

Ottawa, Ontario (ots/PRNewswire) – The Royal Canadian Mint is proud to present a stunning new silver coin, which picks up the Design of the silver dollar of 1949. It is a celebration of the Transformation of Newfoundland and Labrador from British colonies to the newest province in Canada 70 years ago. This coin is the Matthew, the sailing ship, the intrepid European explorers John Cabot in 1497 sailed to the Shores of Newfoundland. As the engraved master engraver Thomas Shingles, the back of this coin first-hand, she was with her graceful and careful Design, an instant classic. Now you can enjoy even more the size of a 5 ounces heavy, of 99.99% pure silver coin, on the front, as on the Original, His Majesty king George VI is shown. This special coin as well as several other finely crafted collectibles are now available for purchase.

On the four-square shaped coins from the 2019-fine silver coin set (3 $) „The Elements“, you can find pure creativity. Every coin that was designed by the artist Rebecca Yanovskaya, from Toronto, shows one of the elements: fire, air, earth and water. This coin series was first inspired at the suggestion of a member of the Mint’s Masters Club (one of the Royal Canadian Mint managed loyalty program), Mr Bernard Dumais from Lévis, QC. Each of the coins will be supplemented scroll through a motif of red, yellow, brown and green Maple, reminiscent of each Element. Put together, the coins form a circular image that represents the cycle of the changing seasons of Canada.

A more historic coin occurs with the 2019-fine silver coin (100 $) – „40th Anniversary of the Gold Maple Leaf“ in the foreground. The characteristic Design one of the most popular gold bullion coins in the world is true to get on a double-stamped coin, whose Central Design is embedded in the surface of the coin is: a sugar maple leaf on the back and the Image of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the front.
