
World women’s day: living costs for women increasingly endanger the existence
Alarming result of the survey: Every third Austrian suffers from the burden due to housing costs. One in eight spends more than half of their income for Housing.
Vienna (OTS) – The burden of housing costs weighs always heavier. Especially for women. The results of the ING International Survey in which people in 13 European countries, as well as the USA and Australia are regularly consulted on housing issues.
A comparison of the results from September 2017 and September 2018 presents a significant burden due to housing costs and women.
Cost pressure on women is increasing
It was 2017 for 22% of the Austrians, who felt they had difficulties, rent, or loan month-to-month rate to be applied, so 2018 is already 34%. In men, however, the living has not increased pressure on costs, so blatantly, from 19% 2017 23% 2018.
One in eight women (12.5%) and was even, to need the half to three-quarters of their income on Housing. 35% spend a quarter to half of your salary.
About the survey
The survey was carried out in the framework of the ING International Survey – a study series, the Save in the order of ING Group regularly on various aspects around the topics of „personal Finance, digitization/Banking and Living“ lights. For the current survey were interviewed by the Institute Ipsos online in 13 European countries (Belgium, Germany, France, great Britain, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Romania, Spain, Turkey, the Czech Republic), as well as the USA and Australia, almost 15,000 people aged 18 and over.
