AVISO panel discussion: raw materials and development policy in conflict?

The competition for mineral raw materials and its importance for developing countries

Vienna (OTS) – a few weeks Ago, mine broke in an iron ore in Brazil, a dam, a deadly mud avalanche made their way. Hundreds of people died, a surface area of about 400 football fields was flooded. The mining and processing of mineral raw materials have an impact on people, the environment and climate. Reason enough to ask the question: What are the raw materials actually in our everyday devices, such as mobile phone, Laptop and co.? Where and under what conditions they are mined? What has this to do with the Austrian raw materials policy and what it means for countries, the mineral raw materials export?

The Federation AG global responsibility, with 35 member organizations from the fields of development cooperation and Humanitarian aid, invites discussion of how raw materials policy can support the development of policy. At The Podium:
