Women’s day: PRO-GE women demand a General reduction of working time to 35 hours
Frieben of government: rhetoric and PR talk to help any woman
Vienna (OTS) – on the Occasion of the International women’s day, 8. March, the Chairman of the PRO-GE warns Frieben, Klaudia, in front of regression in women’s policy: „Currently, the political decisions are taken, which are contrary to the interests of the women are diametrically opposed. The ÖVP-FPÖ government based on the needs of the industry and the consequences for the women.“ The 12-hour day made it difficult for women with children, full-time work to accept part-time work and will therefore be served.
„The latest Figures of statistics Austria show that the Gender Pay Gap in Austria is above the EU average. One reason is the high share of part-time employment. With education alone you will not get women in full-time employment. Here, it takes instead of an extension of Working hours, a General reduction of working time to 35 hours with full wage compensation and the massive Expansion of childcare, especially in rural areas,“ says the PRO-GE Chairman.
Frieben calls on the government to finally put actions to facilitate the reconciliation of work and family: „We are still waiting for the right to claim for the father’s month. And we want to vorrückungen a statutory recognition of the waiting times on Content. The trade unions have achieved in this area very much. Now, it is time that the legislature is working to close the gaps. If the government takes the women seriously, then you should act. With empty words and PR talk, not a single woman is helped.“ (Final)
