World Ocean Summit: There is reason for optimism for the future of the world’s oceans

Abu Dhabi, UAE (ots/PRNewswire) – The mood when today ended the sixth World Ocean Summit was cautiously optimistic that the talk – but there is no time to lose.

Over 700 attendees, 65 speakers from more than 50 countries came together this week to the summit in Abu Dhabi under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme commander of the UAE armed forces,.

The next Generation plays a crucial role to bring about the necessary changes. 2018 was the seas, a significant year for the world, what relates to the public awareness. Now, it is important to mobilize this interest and the solutions before the key date of 2020 for the sustainable development goal (SDG) 14. These solutions include the development of new technologies, the motivation of the financial sector and the establishment of a robust regulatory framework.

„The idea of a sustainable marine economy has matured to a tangible reality. Every year we listen to the summit, and how urgent the problems of the world are oceans. Most of these projects are implemented through innovative financing mechanisms and international partnerships.“
