
Wiener Landtag President Ernst Woller to the death of Christine Schirmer
Vienna (OTS) – With great sadness of Vienna, the first President of the Landtag, Ernst Woller reacted to the news of the death of Christine Schirmer’s, the on 6. March 81. The age of deceased. Christine Schirmer took over in 1991, the function of the First President of the Viennese provincial Parliament, positions she held until November 1994.
Born on 7. December 1938, engaged Christine Schirmer since 1964 within the framework of the Socialist party of Austria, among others, in the district women’s Committee Penzing, whose Vice-Chairman was in 1973. In the same year, she was chosen in the Penzinger district representation; you belonged to your feeder in the Viennese state Parliament and municipal Council in 1979.
As a local councillor Schirmer was a member of various committees, as well as several years, Ombudsman for the nursing students. In February 1987, Christine Schirmer was the first woman in this Position − Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Vienna municipal Council. In the Vienna management Board, as well as in the Federal party Executive of the SPÖ was elected in 1987. Since the year 1976, she worked as a managing Director of the Association of Viennese social services. From December 1987 to December 1991, she held the Position of a World councillor for consumer protection, women’s issues, legal Affairs and citizens ‚ service. After the municipal election in 1991, she took on the role of the First President of the Viennese provincial Parliament, positions she held until November 1994.
