Der urwiener Klassiker, Heimito von Doderers „Die Strudlhofstiege“, endet mit einem tragischen Verkehrsunfall, der schon auf der ersten Seite vorweggenommen wird: Mary K verliert am Althanplatz (heute Julius-Tandler-Platz) beim Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof am 21. September 1925 bei einem Straßenbahnunfall ein Bein.
