Mehr als 90 Prozent der österreichischen Weihnachtsbäume kommen zwar aus heimischer Produktion, doch das Mutterland der meisten Bäume ist eigentlich Georgien. Das „WELTjournal“ zeigt dazu am Mittwoch, dem 18. Dezember 2024, um 22.30 Uhr in ORF 2 und auf ORF ON die Reportage „Das Christbaum-Business“. Um 23.05 Uhr folgt im „WELTjournal +“ die Dokumentation „Georgien – zwischen Europa und Russland“.
