Premstaetten, Austria, and Munich, Germany (2 March 2026) – ams OSRAM has
closed the sale of Entertainment and Industry Lamps business to Ushio Inc.
(Japan) with a deal value of EUR 114 million
“The successful completion of the sale of our Entertainment and Industry
Lamps business to Ushio Inc. represents another important milestone,” said
Aldo Kamper, CEO of ams OSRAM. “It advances our balance‑sheet deleveraging
strategy and strengthens our focus on building a global leader in Digital
Photonics.”
Executing the balance sheet deleveraging plan
On 30 April 2025, ams OSRAM announced an accelerated and comprehensive
deleveraging plan aimed at achieving target leverage ratio of net-debt to
adjusted EBITDA of below 2, supported by several complementary elements.
As part of this plan, the company announced two transactions.
On 29 July 2025, ams OSRAM announced the first transaction, the sale of
its Entertainment and Industry Lamps business to Ushio Inc. for a cash and
debt-free purchase price of EUR 114 m. Ushio Inc.

leader in optical technologies. The transaction comprises production
facilities in Berlin, in total approx. 500 employees, research &
development capabilities and the associated intellectual property.
The transaction closed today.
