St. Gallen (ots) – The exhibition „fashion, Circus Knie“ presents costumes from the time from the beginning of the 20th century. Century until today. The magnificent vestments from the collection of the family knees – equally fashion Statement as well as functional work clothes – a hundred years of circus history. The Exhibition was conceived on the occasion of the anniversary „100 years of National-Circus Knie“ and is from the 7. March 2019 up to 19. To see January 2020 at the textile Museum of St. Gallen.
One hundred years ago, the artist of the family knee, which appeared to 1919, under the open sky acquired a tent, her first circus. From then on, she traveled as a National-Circus Knie, with Chapiteau, and a growing Menagerie, Switzerland, where she goes, even today, every year on tour and your audience.
On the occasion of the circus anniversary of the textile Museum St. Gallen presents unique costumes from the period of 1900 to today, are to be seen in this compilation for the first time publicly. Curated the Exhibition „fashion, Circus knee“ of the textile designer Martin Leuthold, the feel of fashion, just like the circus. Together with the costume designer, Moritz Junge, he sighted collection of the family of the knee. From the Depths of the archive textile treasures from a hundred years of circus have been lifted story, which have been specially restored for the Show and elaborately staged. Supplemented by selected pieces from private collections, they now Shine Once again in the spotlight.
