Green: Short-ÖVP is implausible at a distance to Orbán

Kogler/Reimon: Fidesz-exclusion from the EPP is long overdue

Vienna (OTS) – „It is not even a year, that Sebastian, the EU destroyed Short with the words ,Who is looking at Orbán and Salvini down,‘ protectively in front of Fidesz-in-chief Victor Orbán has made“, recalls Michel Reimon, Co-head of the delegation of the Greens in the European Parliament. The current pivot ÖVP, the Hungarian sister party of Fidesz, to exclude from the group of the European people’s parties, the Short pressure on the upcoming EU elections. „But who in coalition with the extreme Right, expresses, of course, long both eyes“, says the Green MEP.

„The sudden swivel of the Short-ÖVP shortly before the EU elections is far-fetched and hypocritical,“ stressed the Federal spokesman of the Greens, and a designated EU top candidate Werner Kogler. A few months ago – in October 2018 – has spoken Briefly in the German „Frankfurt General Sunday newspaper“ for the whereabouts of Orbán in the EPP. Even though the current ÖVP candidate Othmar Karas had directly challenged before the at least temporary exclusion from the European EPP. Not to mention the Twitter-congratulations‘ on the occasion of Orbán’s election victory in front of a little more than a year. For the Green Kogler, one thing is clear: „Every vote for the ÖVP remains an anti-European voice.“
