
Student competition for IT talent: With Huawei to China travel
TU Graz and University of Vienna are new cooperation partner
Vienna (OTS) – Huawei Technologies Austria students invites already for the fifth Time to participate in the student competition of the „Seeds for the Future“. Students of the TU Vienna, TU Graz, faculty of computer science of the University of Vienna, FH Joanneum, University of applied Sciences Hagenberg and FH St. Pölten can to 1. May 2019 under www.huawei-university.at participate. The ten Best will win a two-week educational trip to China to visit, inter alia, the Huawei Headquarters in Shenzhen, Beijing and Hong Kong.
As of now the submission phase starts for the student competition „Seeds for the Future“ by Huawei Technologies Austria. Students with training emphasis in information technology and telecommunications are already invited for the fifth Time to participate. „With the competition we promote young IT talent, and allow you insight into a global high-tech companies. You will receive comprehensive specialist training, a language course and learn China and the Chinese culture,“ explains Panyao, CEO of Huawei Austria.
The 5-Year Anniversary: New Uni-Partner
From the beginning, the telecommunications company is working closely with the leading educational institutions in the country and strengthened the cooperation between industry and science this year: From now on, students of the Technical University of Graz and the faculty of science at the University of Vienna can participate in the competition.

Dr. Wilfried Gansterer, Dean of the faculty of science at the University of Vienna: „We attach great importance to practice-oriented transfer of knowledge and close Links between teaching and research. Trip to China with the cultural and professional Highlights
To be able to participate in the program, must be submitted an Essay to a predetermined question from the fields of Innovation and technology. This year, the participants deal with topics such as Smart City and 5G. An independent Jury of experts assesses all contributions and selects the winner. In previous years, this consisted of representatives from the Federal Ministry for transport, Innovation and technology (BMVIT), Vienna business Agency, Austrian economic chamber, and Huawei.
The winners and winners a two-week trip to China, which will take place in September 2019 beckons. About the education initiative, Huawei University
The competition is part of a long-term education initiative from Huawei to Austria, which includes under the name of „Huawei University,“ several programs for students and pupils: The telecommunications manufacturer has invested in cooperation with the Ministry of education in local research and education projects, funded in the framework of the „Huawei scholarship“ annually to three students a place in an ÖJAB home and helps in cooperation with the technical University of Vienna, socially disadvantaged young people. The aim of the Initiative is to promote the digital society and an improved use of ICT technologies as well as improving the cultural exchange between Austria and China.
