Pernkopf: Professionally qualified staff assures the quality of the drinking water supply
St. Pölten (OTS/NLK) – water is a precious commodity. To drinking water in the best quality available, a reliable supply is necessary. This requires well-trained personnel. The successful co-operation project for training for the water supplier in lower Austria will continue in 2019. Basic courses take place on 19. March and on 17. September. The nearest water maintenance course starts on 14. October and ends on 16. October with a written exam. The training will be carried out by the lower Austrian energy and environment Agency, Betriebs-GmbH in cooperation with the ÖVGW (Austrian Association for Gas and water), and the office of the provincial government of lower Austria – Department of environmental hygiene.
The quality of the drinking water supply is the responsibility of the professional staff in water supply systems. LH-Deputy Stephan Pernkopf: „drinking water for all people is essential and should, therefore, be in the best quality and in sufficient quantity available. For the society, a secure and reliable supply of drinking water represents the basis for health, prosperity and a functioning economy. Well-trained staff is an important cornerstone.“
