Wölbitsch/Olischar: decision-making for the bus terminal was long overdue
The overall concept for urban planning and transport is still missing – the ÖVP of Vienna calls for the involvement of the district’s population
Vienna (OTS) – „This decision was long overdue and shows that Red-Green with important decisions for our city is doing,“ explained city Councilor Markus Wölbitsch and club Chairwoman Elisabeth Olischar. The bus terminal was a long-standing AUSTRIAN claim, and is important for the business location. „It is good that finally a decision has been made. But as a tourism metropolis and an important business location, it can’t afford Vienna, in the case of major infrastructure projects is always an unnecessary amount of time to elapse and responsibilities to other councils and districts to deport.“
Whether and how the bus terminal in the presented location in the 2. The district fits in, could not be said. „As is unfortunately common, the city government presents no overall concept for this area“, writes Elisabeth Olischar in its function as the AUSTRIAN city planning spokeswoman. „We therefore call for the involvement of the district population, the new project set up for the next few decades.“
„The demolition of the sports & Fun hall must at least be compensated,“ emphasizes Markus Wölbitsch, the fears in addition, a demolition of the Dusika stadium. „It is clear that The Viennese sports clubs need more halls, and more open spaces for Training and small-to medium-sized competitions. Therefore, the city of Vienna should understand these Changes as an opportunity and a mandate to build a new and modern multi-purpose hall.“ The Dusika had to be redeveloped stadium, and newly built. The ÖVP Vienna insists that a new multi-purpose hall for sport will be created. „Vienna is in urgent need of Competition and training sites, including athletics, gymnastics, and numerous ball sports. Also in the context of the use of the town hall more space for grassroots sport needs to be created.“
