
Junior trade fair in Vienna makes pupils fit for self-employment
50 Junior Companies and 200 students to offer their self-developed products, and services
Vienna (OTS) – next Saturday, the 9. March 2019, will present about 200 pupils between 15 and 19 years in the Viennese shopping centre „The Mall“ of their self-established company and sell their products and services for the first time in Public. In the framework of the program „JUNIOR – pupils create businesses“ are taught to the students as early as possible, the entrepreneurial Skills, the independence of the future demands in a digital and globalised world.
„With a Junior Company, students can pursue their dream of opening their own company. You can learn more about your interests and Strengths and learn how you can implement their ideas successfully. The promotes as early as possible the personal initiative and the entrepreneurial spirit,“ emphasizes Jürgen Roth, Vice-President of the economic chamber Austria (WKÖ) and President of Junior Achievement Austria (YES, Austria).
Expert jury selects the best Junior Companies
On the trade fair „YES Marketplace Vienna“ in Vienna, national and international Teams will have the opportunity to sell their products and services under real-world conditions. Annually, about 50 Junior Companies will take part with approximately 200 students, support teachers and mentors from all over Austria and Europe.
Parallel to the presentations, and sales at the stands, a jury will select the best Junior Companies in the categories of Innovation, best Marketing and sales concept, best stage presentation, as well as an overall winner. The Federal Ministry for sustainability, and tourism (BMNT) creates a sustainability award in the amount of 500 Euro, Austria signed up to the Junior Company with the best entrepreneurial spirit.
„Junior – pupils of an enterprise“ since 1995
In the framework of the international Junior Company programme, students aged 15 to 19 years, reasons for the duration of a school year, real companies – the so-called Junior Companies – and offer real products and services. You assume all entrepreneurial tasks, from ideation, production, Marketing and sales to accounting. The young people train in the process, important economic and social skills for later successful entry into the world of work or self-employment. Annually, over 3,500 students and 200 teachers from 150 schools will take part and the reasons, in Austria more than 300 Companies.
