The Public-Value-competence-centre, ORF and the FHWien University of applied Sciences of WKW invite you to a joint discussion with ORF2-channel Manager Oliver Ortner within the framework of the European Media Literacy Week.
Vienna (OTS) – Manipulation by Bots, outrage in the Boulevard, Fake News in social media: a Lot of elections the last time were of questionable media content trusted influenced.
In the run-up to the European elections in may 2019 ORF2-channel Manager Oliver Ortner, Klaus Unterberger Public-Value-competence-centre, ORF and Gisela tab, Research & Teaching Associate at the FHWien University of applied Sciences of WKW, about media policy issues and the challenges for quality media will be discussed. The evening will take place in the framework of the European Media Literacy Week.

How can remain (political) reporting facts true? How should Information be designed in a way to create trust and to justify this? What is the role of Regulatory games such as the editor of this Statute?

About the European Media Literacy Week
The European Media Literacy Week (the European week of media competence) is a new Initiative of the European Commission, in order to promote the social importance of media literacy and to emphasise initiatives and projects on media literacy in the whole of the EU. 18. to 22. March 2019 will be held in Brussels and in the member States with various events on the topic of media literacy.
A high level of media competence is a key factor, so that the citizens can make in the digital age to make informed decisions. Against this Background media competence is a prerequisite for a vibrant, modern democracy and an important issue in view of the upcoming European elections in may 2019.
