
BCD calls on the occasion of the International women’s day the Women of Distinction Award
Forbes and Flex jobs had acknowledged BCD before for gender equality and Work-Life Balance
Utrecht (ots) – The leading Travel Management Company, BCD Travel Kathy Jackson, Executive Vice President, Global Program Management & Advito has awarded, as first prize winner with the BCD Travel Women of Distinction Award. The Award was presented last week in the context of a BCD executives conference.

Kathy Jackson for more than 37 years at BCD Travel. She began her career as a travel consultant and quickly rose in leadership positions. In her current role, she is responsible for the global Program Management Team of BCD and Advito, the independent consulting division of BCD. In addition, she is the driving force in the establishment of the global sustainability programme of BCD Travel.
In addition to the newly launched Award BCD Travel for gender justice and equality, a Central Element of the UN Global Compact is involved. BCD has become the first Travel Management Company in the world to the UN Global Compact and supports its goals for sustainable development (Sustainability Development Goals-SDGS). The equality of the sexes, the 5 is. of the 17 objectives in total.
In the year 2018 BCD Travel from Forbes on its list of the best US employer for women. The list is based on criteria such as working conditions, diversity, parental leave arrangements and career advancement opportunities. BCD has been determined to rank 73 out of a total of 300 companies, and is the only listed large Travel Management Company.
Furthermore, the Portal Flex-jobs has appointed BCD recently one of the most flexible employers in 2019, with a focus on Work-Life Balance. BCD is ranked among the 100 best companies with Remote Jobs to 23 and was listed for the fifth year.
Women currently make up 70% of the global workforce of BCD Travel. In Germany there are around 77 %, in Switzerland 65 %. Almost half of the employees in Germany and Switzerland, works part-time. In particular, with a very wide range of different, flexible working time models, the BCD supports the compatibility of family and career. On the management level, Directors and above globally, 50% of women. Due to the demographics of the company, the share of women to rise in leadership positions. Recently, BCD has expanded the training program for managers in order to strengthen middle Management and to ensure better implementation of the corporate strategy at all levels. 2018 125 employees completed the program, which represents an increase of 400% compared to the previous year. The participation reflects the gender distribution in the total workforce – around 70 % of the Management Trainees are women. It is always the best-qualified candidate and the best are promoted well qualified candidate, but because the majority of potential managers are women, women account for in the future, the majority of the managers at BCD.
