66 Nobel laureates urge India and Pakistan to defuse tensions

New Delhi (ots/PRNewswire) – Under the auspices of the Kailash Satyarthi, the Children’s Foundation, which was founded by Nobel peace prize winner, Kailash Satyarthi, called on 66 Nobel laureates, Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan to defuse the growing tension before it escalates into a real war between the two nuclear States.

The joint Letter was submitted to the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan, as well as the Permanent representatives of both countries at the United Nations.

For the first Time so many Nobel prize winners, from Nobel peace prize winners to Nobel laureates from the fields of Economics, chemistry, physics and medicine together, to make a joint appeal to more than half a billion children in India and Pakistan to the attention of, whose lives and future are in danger.

The platform Laureates and Leaders for Children, which was founded in 2016, has developed into one of the highest moral Collective, a sense of urgency, a shared responsibility, and a strong global voice, to build, to mobilize the political will to protect the children of the world.

On this joint appeal Mr Kailash Satyarthi said: „I would like to stress once again that children are the worst victims of terrorism and war. The fact that so many Nobel prize winners from different fields come together and for the first Time, the safety of children request, shows the urgency of the present Situation. I sincerely hope that the voice of the global moral leader of the Prime Ministers and citizens will be heard by India and Pakistan and immediate action will be taken to the tensions between the two countries to dismantle.“

Some of the 66 Nobel laureates have signed the appeal so far, are in the category of peace, Mdm Leymah Gbowee, Mdm Shirin Ebadi, Mdm Tawakkol Karman, Ms. Malala Yousafzai, Professor Muhammad Yunus, His Excellency José Ramos-Horta. In the category of medicine Professor Edvard came that man of Moser and Professor May-Britt Moser have signed. Professor Venkatraman Ramakrishnan signed in the category of chemistry; Professor Alvin Roth in the category of economy, Professor Takaaki Kajita, and Professor Oliver D. Hart in the category of physics, and more in various areas around the world.
